Request for Your PSA Birth Certificate Online (The Fast and Easy Way)

The birth certificate is the most basic document that we must have. This piece of paper is a proof of your citizenship, birth date, and the names of your parents. Thus, the birth certificate is needed for many transactions. This is the reason why I always get the birth certificates of my kids as early as I can.

Recently, I requested the birth certificate of my youngest child from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA). I did it the fastest and easiest way - which is requesting the PSA birth certificate online.

Here is the step by step guide on how to request for your PSA Birth Certificate online:

Step 1: Go to the PSA Serbilis site and click the "Click to request now" button.

Step 2: Contact and Delivery Information

Input all the required contact info like your name, contact number, address, and email address. Click the "next" once you're done inputting the info.

Make sure that you have access to your email address because this is where the PSA will send the payment details for your request for a birth certificate.

Step 3: Add Request

The next step is placing your request to PSA. You can request for multiple documents like birth certificate, death certificate, marriage certificate, and certificate of no marriage (CENOMAR).

In my case, I only requested for the birth certificate of my child.

You will be asked some questions once you placed your request…

...and then have to input the details of the request like the name and birthday details.

After you're done, the site will bring you back to the summary of your request. Click the "submit" button if you're OK with your request.

Step 4: Payment Details

The site will show you the Batch Request Number and the total amount that you have to pay.

Make sure that you list or write the Batch Request Number since you'll need it when you pay with any of PSA's payment partners. The site allows you to print the payment details or save it to your phone or computer.

Step 5: Payment

You can pay through credit card, Banco de Oro (branch, online banking, and ATM), Union Bank (branch, online banking, and ATM), and Bayad Center.

As for me, I paid in UnionBank.

Step 6: Receive the Birth Certificate

The last step is receiving the birth certificate that you requested. No need for you to go to any office of PSA.

The delivery of the PSA birth certificate was fast since I received it within the week.

Requesting my son's birth certificate online is easy and hassle free. It is good that PSA gave this option, especially now that it is risky to go outside of the house because of the pandemic.

So, if you are in need of a birth certificate, death certificate, marriage certificate, or CENOMAR, I recommend that you request it online through the PSA Serbilis. It is easy, convenient, and safe.

NOTES:

1. Wait for at least 6 months after the birth of your child before you request his/her birth certificate from PSA. Your town or city's local registrar may take a long time to transmit the local birth certificate to PSA. Also, it takes time for PSA to digitize all the birth certificate that they receive. The same condition applies to death and marriage certificates.

2. Have your ID ready when receiving the birth certificate from the courier. Although, usually the courier does not check if the one receiving the birth certificate is the recipient.

3. Birth certificate costs 330 pesos per copy for people living in CALABARZON. The price includes the delivery fee and may be higher for Visayas and Mindanao.
