Preparing a Jollibee party is easy because Jollibee gives its customers a wide range of options for its Jollibee party. Each Jollibee party package has its own sets of menu or food. Jollibee gives you the power to decide who of the other mascots will accompany Jollibee during the birthday party. Jollibee also allows you to choose the food from the Jollibee menu that will be prepared for the party. Lastly, Jollibee also allows you to choose the party theme. You can choose from Transformers, Jollitown, Barbie and My Bestfriend Jollibee party themes.

Parents don’t need to worry because each Jollibee party package has available party items that are suited for the chosen theme. How to Reserve aTicket at ZestAir

Booking Cebu Pacific promo fares is very tough. There are many people who compete for the booking, especially if the flights that are on promo are those going to popular tourist destinations. Available Cebu Pacific promo fares just last for few hours and then they are gone.

I am always on the look-out for promo fares whenever I have plans to travel. If I fail to get promo fares from Cebu Pacific, my next recourse is to book a flight at ZestAir. ZestAir flights are way cheaper than the regular flights in Cebu Pacific and AirPhil Express. The problem with ZestAir, however, is that its online payment scheme is not flexible as compared with that of Cebu Pacific. ZestAir only allows those who book online to pay thru credit card.

Fortunately, ZestAir has another way to reserve a flight other than the online means. And that is by booking via telephone. So, if you can’t reserve a ZestAir flight via the ZestAir website, I highly suggest that you dial the ZestAir hotline: 855-3333. You only have to wait few minutes before the ZestAir sales representative answers your call. Reserving a flight via telephone is easy because the sales rep will guide you throughout the process.

Reminders for PUPCET Examinees

The day for PUPCET on January 29 is getting nearer and nearer. I know that many of PUPCET examinees are already nervous for the upcoming exams. The large number of comments I received on my post, Tips for PUPCET, is a proof of this. Many PUPCET examinees are asking for tips, leaks and answers. I guess it high time to give PUPCET examinees some important reminders before January 29 comes. Here are they are:

1. Reduce your anxiety - Many graduating high school students wanted to enter the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) because of its low tuition fee. The competition is high that is why the anxiety of PUPCET examinees are also high.

Giving in to anxiety will never help you in passing the PUPCET. Anxiety gives unnecessary stress to your brain and it will surely affect your performance when taking the entrance exam. So, it is important to reduce anxiety and focus more on the positive side of things. One thing that you can do is to relax a bit in your reviews. Don't be too hard on yourself.

2. Always check the PUP Website for updates. PUP is gearing up on the use of online resources to improve its services to the students and the public. Important announcement are placed by the PUP admin on the PUP website. Thus, important announcements regarding the PUPCET will also be placed on the website.

3. Don't forget your PUPCET slip and prepare the things that you will use for the exams. Never forget to bring your PUPCET slip because you will not allowed to take the PUPCET if you don't have it. You should also bring your school ID or other IDs that can be used for identification purposes.

4. Have a good sleep the night before the exam day. Your brain needs a good rest so that it will perform well during the PUPCET. Being sleepy during the exam may result to a low grade that will bar your entry to PUP.

5. Travel early – Expect heavy traffic at PUPCET testing centers, specifically PUP Santa Mesa campus, on the day of the exam. So, it is advisable that you go to PUPCET testing centers at least an hour before the exam. Running to the PUPCET testing center to reach it right on time is not a good idea to start your exam.

How to Search for Jollibee Party Stores

Many kids want to have Jollibee party. It doesn't matter if it is done on their birthday or on any other occasion. What matters is Jollibee, the mascot, is there to celebrate their party with them. There are some steps to take when you want to give your son or a your daughter a Jollibee kids' party. One of them is to check your budget and see what Jollibee party package will fit. Next is to choose the Jollibee party package theme that you want. The last step that you should do is to check where to do your Jollibee kids' party.

Not all Jollibee branches can host a Jollibee kids' party. So, this means that the Jollibee branch nearest to your house may not host the party that you want for your child.

Fortunately, Jollibee website has a list of Jollibee stores. The list is called as Jollibee Store Finder. All you need to do at the Jollibee Store Finder is to click on the Area, then the Municipality or City and then the store that you want to check.

Here is a screen grab of Jollibee Store Finder where I selected Metro Manila for Area, Caloocan for Municipality/City and Zabarte for Store. Details can be seen under the “Details” column of the list.

Important details like the Jollibee store address, telephone numbers and business hours can be seen. The “Details”column will also show if the Jollibee store can host a Jollibee party. Looking at the screen grab, you can see the word part at the bottom of the column. This means that Jollibee Zabarte can host a Jollibee party for your kids. You can check other Jollibee stores, in other city and in other area and see their details.

Nokia C3-01

When my Nokia 5130 Expressmusic cellphone finally conked out, my beloved decided to give a Nokia C3-01 as her birthday present for me. I have a hint what her gift would be days prior to my birthday because she is asking the specs of the cellphone that I want (I answered “any cellphone as long as it has good camera”). What surprised me is that her gift is a silver Nokia C3-01.

Nokia C3-01 Specs

I wanted a cellphone that has a camera that I can use to capture photos for my blogs. My Nokia C3-01 has a 5 Megapixel camera with integrated flash. Nokia C3-01's camera can also take photos at 3.2 megapixels and 2 megapixels. The camera can also take photos in sepia tone or grayscale. C3-01's camera can also be used in taking videos.

Nokia C3-01 has a metal casing that can protect the cellphone's sensitive parts from a nasty fall. My C3-01 once fell at a height of about a meter but it still works fine thanks to its metal casing. Battery life of this cellphone can last for more than a day if you just use it for typing and sending text messages. Battery will not last a day if you are using it as an mp3 player or if you are making calls continuously.

Nokia C3-01 has 2.4” touch screen. I had a hard time using the touch screen at first because it is too sensitive to my fingers. This touch screen became a convenient way of navigating my cellphone after I got used to using it.

Connectivity with Nokia C3-01

Nokia C3-01 has two modes that can be used to connect with other devices. This cellphone can also connect to the Internet through the “wireless local area network” (WLAN).

What I like about my Nokia C3-01 is that is can easily be accessed by the computer. It doesn't require special software like my old Nokia 5130 Expressmusic just to access the files stored inside the phone and the microSD. I can easily transfer picture and music files between my Nokia C3-01 and a computer using USB cable connection. The USB cable can also be used to transfer files between Nokia C3-01 and a USB memory stick or flash drive.

Nokia Ovi Suite software can also be used to access the files stored in Nokia C3-01 from your computer. Unfortunately, the installation CD for Nokia Ovi Suite is not included when you buy the Nokia C3-01.

Another way to connect Nokia C3-01 with other devices is through Bluetooh. This mode allows the wireless connection of Nokia C3-01 with computers, headsets, car kits and other cellphone.

I experienced using C3-01's WLAN functionality while I was inside an SM mall. SM Foodcourt has free WiFi, which I used to test my cellphone's WLAN. Nokia C3-01 uses Opera Mini as its browser. Surfing the net in Nokia C3-01 is easy as long as the WiFi connection is reliable.

Other Features of Nokia C3-01

Other useful features inside Nokia C3-01 are the Calendar and the Media Player. Calendar allows me to remember birthdays and special occasions. I also used this to remind me of my appointments and tasks that I need to do.

Nokia C3-01's media player can be used to play mp3 music files. This cellphone can also be used to listen to FM radio stations.

Other features available in Nokia C3-01 are the voice recorder that can also be used to record phone conversations. Games are also available in Nokia C3-01 and new games can be downloaded from Nokia Ovi Store.

My beloved gave me a good gift for my birthday. Nokia C3-01 has the camera that I need. It is lighter and more durable as compared to my old Nokia 5130 Expressmusic. All in all, Nokia C3-01 is a good phone for me.

Cebu Pacific recently released their latest promo for the coming Summer Season this 2012. The Cebu Pacific promo fares are for selected local and international destinations. These Cebu Pacific promo fares are available until December 7, 2011 or until promo are available.

Avail of the 88 pesos Cebu Pacific promo fares for the following routes:

*Manila to Coron (Busuanga)

*Cagayan de Oro to Iloilo

*Zamboanga to Tawi-Tawi

388 pesos Cebu Pacific promo fares are available for flights from Manila to Calbayog or Virac. 688 pesos Cebu Pacific promo fares are available for flights from Manila to Bacolod or Butuan.

Cebu Pacific promo fares for international flights are as follows:

*888 pesos promo fare for flights from Manila to Kota Kinabalu.

*888 pesos promo fare for flights from Clark to Bangkok.

*1,488 pesos promo fare for flights from Manila to Bangkok or Brunei.

*1,988 pesos promo fare for flights from Manila to Jakarta.

*1,988 pesos promo fare for flights from Manila to Kuala Lumpur.

Expensive LBC Padala

My beloved was furious the other day when she sent the ticket print-out for her parents’ flight from Iloilo to Davao. She said that LBC (touted as Hari ng Padala) ripped her of money. She went to a LBC branch in Laguna to have the two pages of ticket print-out be sent to Iloilo. My beloved was forced to send the print-out through LBC Padala because Cebu Pacific doesn’t allow its passengers to board the airplane if they don’t have a print-out of their ticket.

The LBC Padala clerk gave her the regular price for sending documents to the Visayas. According to the LBC Padala website, the regular price for the regular sized documents is just 95 pesos. The price suddenly went up to 165 pesos when the LBC clerk saw that she is sending a Cebu Pacific ticket print-out. The clerk insisted that the ticket print-out is “very” important document that’s why the price for an LBC Padala was increased. My beloved insisted that the ticket is just simple print-out.

I am a suki (regular customer) of LBC. I have been using LBC Padala whenever I am sending something to the provinces. I believe that 165 pesos price for a simple print-out is too much. This incident made me wonder if LBC Padala is the best and cheapest courier in the country today. I guess it is time to check the other courier companies like the JRS Express AND Air21.

The Problem with AirPhilippines

“You need a credit card to avail of our promo fare.” - this is the explanation of the AirPhilippines call center representative when I asked them why I can't book for their 888-peso promo flight. This answer made me feel frustrated and caused me to book online at Cebu Pacific airline.

My beloved ask me to help her book a flight from Iloilo to Davao last month. She specifically told me that I book the cheapest flight that I could find because her budget is limited. The flight is for her parents (and my future in laws), who are now going home for their short vacation from Iloilo. Following her instructions strictly, I searched for cheap flights from all the budget airlines in the Philippines. I am fortunate to find an 888-peso promo fare from AirPhilippines, which prompted me to book through the AirPhilippines website. Everything is OK until I reached the “Payment Options” page where I discovered that the only available payment option is through credit card. The bad thing is that I don't have a credit card because I avoid having one.

I called the AirPhilippines hotline to book the 888-peso promo flight. The call center representative told me that I am not allowed to reserve for 888-peso promo fare. Only the regular (and more expensive) fares are the only available ones available for those who doesn't have credit cards.

AirPhilippines promo fares are not open for the general public. I believe that this is the reason why AirPhilippines lags behind Cebu Pacific. AirPhilippines promo fares are only available to credit card users while Cebu Pacific promo fares can be availed by anyone. Cebu Pacific allows anyone to book their cheapest fares and still give them the chance to pay through credit card or payment centers like LBC and Banco de Oro.

It is understandable that AirPhilippines is reducing the risk of unpaid booking reservations for its promo fares. This is the possible reason why they only allow credit card users to avail the AirPhilippines promo fares. This is good protection for the airline but it causes frustrated clients like me to book flights in Cebu Pacific.

Mother from Bulacan is the first PPUR Millionaire

It was blessed day for a mother of three when she received the news that she won 1 million pesos from the “Pera sa Kweba” text raffle. Marites Balagtas, who is the text raffle’s first millionaire, was awarded the facsimile of 1 million cheque by the Task Force PPUR at Ninoy Aquino Parks and Wildlife Center in Quezon City.

The “Pera sa Kweba” text raffle was initiated by the private sector to promote the Puerto Princesa Underground River (PPUR) in Palawan. The three telecom giants in the Philippines; namely Globe, Sun and Smart; gave 25 million pesos in prizes for the PPUR text raffle. PPUR was recently included in the provisional list of New7Wonders Foundation.

The 1 million-peso prize came at the right time for Marites as her son was stricken with dengue. Her husband, who is a pedicab driver, is ill for several days. Their house was also flooded during the onslaught of Typhoon Pedring. Marites said that she will invest her 1 million-pesos prize for the education of her children and for the building of a small house.

Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Secretary Ramon Paje said that the text raffle for the PPUR is extended until December 30, 2011. The grand prize is 25 million pesos that is why he urged the public to continue texting. Aside from the grand prize, there are still five 1 million pesos consolation prizes that are at stake for the PPUR text raffle.

Anyone can join the PPUR text raffle by typing the word PPUR then send to 2861 for all network. Each text costs 2.50 pesos.

The day for PUPCET is getting nearer and those who will be taking this entrance are now studying or processing their PUPCET application. Previously, I placed the PUPCET schedules for the Santa Mesa, Manila campus of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP). Jollibee Menu: Grilled Pork Tenders

My stomach grumbled while I was waiting for the start of the movie, There be Dragons. So, I decided to have a dinner just to silence my tummy. I was in Trinoma and I decided to visit the Jollibee branch located on the ground floor of the mall.

I have visited Jollibee a lot of times and I already tasted the regular items on the Jollibee menu. I already tasted their chicken (two-piece or one-piece), burger yum, Jollibee spaghetti, and that macaroni soup. I even tried a breakfast item on Jollibee menu, which is the Chicken Sausage with Pancake.

That night, I saw a meal item on the Jollibee menu that I haven’t tasted yet. That item is Jollibee’s Grilled Pork Tenders.

I chose Grilled Pork Tenders as my dinner. It costs almost the same as the other regular meal item on the Jollibee menu.

Grilled Pork Tenders lived up to its name. It is tender, which is perfect for senior citizens who already have weak set of teeth. Grilled Pork Tenders tastes sweet and peppery. Grilled Pork Tenders has a toyomansi (soy sauce with calamansi) dip but you can opt not to use the dip because the pork tastes well even without it.

Grille Pork Tenders is another good addition to the Jollibee menu. I believe, however, that its taste is just a notch higher than your home-cooked grilled pork.

Good News: PPUR Among the 7 New Wonders

The online and TV campaigns done by the Philippine government paid off as the Puerto Princesa Underground River (PPUR) was included in the provisional list of the New7Wonders Foundation. Other nature spots included in the New7Wonders provisional list are the Amazon Rainforest, Halong Bay (Vietnam), Iguazu Falls (Argentina), Jeju Island (South Korea), Table Mountain (South Africa).

New7Wonders foundation cited that the given list is provisional. Voting calculation is still being checked and the final list will be announced in 2012 during the Official Inauguration ceremonies. This announcement made by the New7Wonders foundation still places the PPUR and other nature spots in uncertain position because it is not known how the voting calculation will affect the results.

The New7Wonders Foundation is a Swiss foundation founded in 2001 by the filmmaker Bernard Zurich. New7Wonders was inspired by the “7 Wonders of the Ancient World” attributed to Philon of Byzantium.

Puerto Princesa Underground River (PPUR).

The New7Wonders list started with 440 nature spots located in about 220 countries. The list was trimmed to 77 then to 28 by a panel of experts. Worldwide poll was then opened for the shortlist of 28 nature spots. Anyone in the world was allowed to vote via telephone, text messaging and online social networks.

The Philippine government and the City Government of Puerto Princesa had been campaigning vigorously for PPUR in the past months. The aim is to boost the tourism industry in Palawan and give more exposure to PPUR.

The Department of Tourism (DOT), Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) and other national government agencies participated in promoting the PPUR for the New7Wonders list. Three telecommunication companies; Globe, Smart, and Sun; showed their support by offering 25 million pesos prize in the grand raffle draw for those who will vote PPUR via text.

Puerto Princesa mayor Ed Hagedorn is confident that PPUR will be included in the New7Wonders list days before the provisional was revealed. He said that other contenders doesn't have text messaging campaigns unlike the one in PPUR. He believes that this is the advantage of PPUR over other contenders in the New7Wonders.

Well, it seems like being the texting capital of the world has an advantage after all.

Confirmed! Lolong is the World's Longest Croc

The people of Bunawan had finally received the good news. Lolong is now considered as the longest saltwater crocodile in the whole world. He dethroned the Australian crocodile, Cassius, from the top 1 of the “longest crocodile” list.

The confirmation was made last week when the Australian zoologist and croc expert Dr. Adam Britton measured Lolong inside his pen in the town of Bunawan, Agusan del Sur. Dr. Britton lead the team from National Geographic that are shooting a documentary about Lolong.

The measurement of Lolong is 21 feet and one inch, while Cassius measures just 18 feet long. Lolong weighs 1,075 kilograms according to Dr. Britton.

Lolong was captured last September after it was suspected that a crocodile ate a fisherman and a schoolgirl. The saltwater crocodile was named after Ernesto “Lolong” Coñate, who died before his the saltwater crocodile was captured in the Agusan Marsh.

Lolong to be Published in Guinness

The National Geographic team will send their official measurements to the Guinness Book of World records. However, Lolong has to wait for six months before he can be published in Guinness. That is the Guinness rules according to Britton.

The mayor of Bunawan is expecting that Lolong’s publication in Guinness Book of World Records will boost the tourism industry in the municipality. According to the mayor, Lolong already earned around 500 million pesos from donations and entrance and parking fees at the Bunawan Eco-Park and Research Center.

Pacquiao vs Marques Boxing Stats

Many people say the Manny Pacquiao will emerge as the victor in the upcoming Pacquiao vs Marques fight in November 12. Few people, however, are still rooting for Juan Miguel “Dinamita” Marques and they claim that Pacquiao will be stunned by the punches coming from the Mexican boxer.

So what is the real deal? I believe that we should look at the stats of Pacquiao and Marques to see who is at the advantage. Here is their “stats” or their “Tale of the Tape.”

As we can see, the stats between the boxers almost matched. However, Manny Pacquiao is younger than Marques. The Mexican boxer, on the other hand, is taller by an inch than Pacquiao. Manny Pacquiao is faster and can throw a flurry of punches. Marques, on the other hand, is said to be more experienced than the two.

So, who will win this fight this time? Well, I guess must wait for the conclusion of the Pacquiao vs Marques fight this weekend to know who is greater between the boxers.

The excitement is increasing exponentially as the most awaited day of Pacquiao vs Marques fight gets nearer and nearer. The Filipinos, Mexicans and all the boxing fans around the world are all prepared to see how Manny Pacquiao and Juan Miguel Marquez will slug it all out this Saturday, November 12 at Las Vegas.

This Pacquiao vs Marques fight is now the third encounter between “Pacman” and “Dinamita.” Many people are hoping that this third fight will reveal the true winner once and for all. The first two fights is somewhat “inconclusive” for some boxing fans and some say that Marques actually defeated Pacquiao.

The first Pacquiao vs Marques fight in 2004 ended into a draw. The second fight in 2008 ended by split decision in favor of Manny Pacquiao. Juan Marques had been yapping ever since the second fight and he keep on claiming that he is the true winner. Pacquiao’s coach, Freddie Roach, is irritated with Marques and hope that the Filipino boxers will emerge victorious by knocking Marques out. Roach believes that knock-out victory is necessary to remove the doubts about Pacquiao’s victory.

So, who will emerge victorious in the third Pacquiao vs Marques fight? Opinions vary but majority of boxing fans, sports writers and boxing analysts are saying that Manny Pacquiao will win. The number of celebrities visiting Manny Pacquiao shows that opinion is in favor of a Pacquiao victory.

I, for one, is hoping for Manny Pacquiao to win against Marques. But the truth is we can never be sure until the third Pacquiao vs Marques fight is over and see by our own eyes who is the last person standing.

New on Jollibee Menu: University Floats

The UAAP fever for this year is already over but Jollibee is not yet done with it. My beloved and I visited a Jollibee branch for some refreshments and we saw the University Floats on the Jollibee menu. Since my beloved is somewhat addicted to floats, we decided to order two of Jollibee’s University Floats.

My beloved chose Green Apple float while I chose the Blue Bubblegum. Other University Floats on the Jollibee menu are Red Watermelon and Yellow Dalandan. I know that University Floats are just Sprite soft drinks that were mixed with flavoring and a sundae on top.

Here is our Blue Bubblegum and Green Apple floats:

We rated both flavors of the University Floats as “OK.” This is means that they are not bad but not excellent either. Well, it is good that Jollibee keep on placing new items on the Jollibee menu. Personally, I believe that the Green Apple tastes better than the Blue Bubblegum.

We will try the Red Watermelon and the Yellow Dalandan the next time that we visit Jollibee. However, the University Floats may be gone on the Jollibee menu soon since this year’s UAAP is over. If that happens then we will wait until next year for the next batch of University Floats.

If there are no University Floats, then there will always be the regular Jollibee float.

Fasting of Lolong is Finally Over

After about one month of not eating, Lolong, the giant buwaya, finally ate the food that is being given to him by his caretakers. The giant buwaya was caught last month in the Agusan Marsh by crocodile hunters in the belief that the buwaya is responsible for the death of a fisherman and a grade school student. Lolong Buwaya was placed inside an 800 square meter pen and is visited by many people from the areas around the municipality of Bunawan. International groups were also interested with Lolong because of its immense size.

Lolong refused to eat in the past month and doctors said that the buwaya is stressed because of the situation that he is in. Because of this, Bunawan mayor Edwin Elorde decided to limit the visitors of Lolong to reduce the stress on the buwaya.

It was reported that at 10 in the morning, Monday (October 5), Lolong ate 7 kilograms of raw pork. Officials of the Bunawan Municipal Government saw this as a sign that the buwaya’s condition is improving. It was said that Lolong Buwaya was given raw pork and dressed chicken alternately.

On the other note, Mayor Elorde believes that there are buwaya that are larger than Lolong that still roams freely in Agusan Marsh.

Jollitown is Jollibee’s online game website that is especially made for Jollibee kids who are fans of the children show, Jollitown. Favorite Jollibee mascots like Jollibee, Hetty, Twirlie, Mr. Yum and Popo are all featured in Jollitown.

Jollitown is all about playing games and having fun with Jollibee and friends. Because of this, Jollibee set different games that will be enjoyed by all Jollibee kids. Here are the games or mini-games that can be played in Jollitown.

Jollitown Game #1: Fun Tram

Jollibee is on a fun tram in outer space.

The goal of this Jollitown game is to make Jollibee reach the finish line. Players should avoid obstacles or the side of the road. Jollitown points can be collected along the way. Players can choose from three available racetracks; which are Beach, Metropolis and Outer Space.

Jollitown Game #2: Aqua Quest

Popo is looking a strong swimmer for his team. Aqua Quest is a game where players can show Popo that they are good swimmers. The goal of this game is for the player’s avatar to reach the end of this side-scrolling game. Each avatar has an allotted life meter, which will go down whenever the avatar hit sea creatures. Life meter will go up whenever the avatar swims to the surface or get oxygen tanks. This Jollitown game will be over if the life meter becomes empty. Treasure chests in the game give players bonus points.

Jollitown Game #3: Pompom Pow

This Jollitown game is similar with the Popcap game, Bounce Out. In Pompom Pow, players should line at least 3 pompoms of the same color in a row. Players have a time limit of 5 seconds in finding new pompom rows. The game ends after the player failed for 5 times to create a row within the time limit.

Jollitown Game #4: Robot Lab

This Jollitown game challenges the memory of players. In Robot Lab, players are required to “build” a robot from scratch. The player will choose from different Mr. Yum’s different robots. After that, the player should memorize how the robot looks. The game can be finished by joining the robot parts exactly the way it was shown previously. The game is over if the robot was not built within the time limit.

Jollitown Game #5: Dance Mix

Dance Mix is similar to the Dance Revolution games that are available at the arcade. In this Jollitown game, players should create good dance moves by hitting the correct arrow key as they come down the screen. The songs that are used for this game are Try New Things, Jollitown Theme Song and Ilabas ang Saya.

So, these are the five games available in Jollitown. They are simple games and that the kids will surely love. Hope that you enjoy playing these games.

How to Enroll at BPIExpressOnline

BPIExpressOnline, or BPI Express Online, is the online service of the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) that allows depositors to access their accounts 24/7. With BPIExpressOnline, depositors can check balance of their BPI accounts, pay bills, transfer funds and more.

If you are a BPI depositor, then it is highly recommended that you enroll your account in BPIExpressOnline. Here is a step-by-step procedure for enrolling your BPI account at BPIExpressOnline.

Please note that this procedure is only for those who already have Deposit Account or Credit Card account with BPI.

1. Go to the BPIExpressOnline website.

2. Select the "Not yet enrolled..." radio button. A window will pop out. Just click on "Continue."

3. Choose your account that you will enroll for BPIExpressOnline. There are four options depending on the BPI accounts; which are ATM-based BPI deposit accounts, Passbook-based BPI deposit account, BPI Europe account and BPI Credit Card Account. Click on "Continue" after selecting your BPI account.

4. Select your place of residence. If you are living within the Philippines, you are required to visit any BPI Express Teller ATM (for ATM-based accounts) or any BPI branch (for Passbook-based accounts) within 20 banking days to activate the BPIExpressOnline enrollment. Those who are residing outside of the Philippines are required to print, sign and mail the duly accomplished form available from the BPIExpressOnline website. Click on "Continue" after selecting the correct option.

5. Read the "Internet Banking Service Agreement" and click "I Agree" at the bottom of the page to continue.

6. Fill out information regarding your account like the Account Number and type of your BPI account. Click "Submit" to continue.

7. Fill out the BPIExpressOnline registration form. Click "Submit" after you are done filling out the form.

8. The last window shows your BPIExpressOnline confirmation number. All you need to do now is to activate you BPIExpressOnline enrollment. ATM card holder can activate their enrollment through any BPI ATM. To activate, insert the ATM card of your enrolled account and enter the PIN. Select: Special Services, then Activate Enrollments, then Express Online.

Note that the activation of BPIExpressOnline enrollment for ATM-based accounts has cut-off time until 10 pm (Manila local time) during banking days. If you activated your account before 10 PM, you can access your BPIExpressOnline account the following day. If you activated after 10 pm or during weekends or holidays, then you can access your BPIExpressOnline account 2 days after the day of activation.

Lolong Buwaya: A Worlwide "Celebrity"

Is Lolong the largest buwaya (crocodile) alive? Many people agree that Lolong is the largest buwaya in the Agusan Marsh. With the length of 6.4 meters or 21 feet, who wouldn't say that Lolong is the largest of all the buwaya in the Philippines. The Mayor of Bunawan thinks otherwise. Mayor Edwin Elorde of Bunawan said crocodile hunters saw a crocodile that is larger than Lolong. The said crocodile has a larger head and wider back as compared to Lolong.

Even if there is a possibility that Lolong is not the largest buwaya in Agusan Marsh, many international groups were interested with the giant salt-water crocodile. Last month, Time Magazine included Lolong in its list of Top 10 real life monsters. Guinness World Records and National Geographic Society were also interested with Lolong and planned to send teams to check on Lolong Buwaya.

Guinness is interested in Lolong because the buwaya is a contender in dethroning the longest salt-water crocodile in its list. The current record for longest salt-water crocodile is being hold by the 17 feet and 11.75 inches long crocodile caught in Australia. At a length of about 21 feet, Lolong Buwaya can easily remove the Australian crocodile from the Guinness Book of World Records.

The animal “rights” group, PETA, also weighed in the popularity of Lolong. They demand Lolong to be freed to the wild despite the fact the buwaya is suspected of killing to people and may cause hazard to citizens of Bunawan. The group also accused the mayor of Bunawan of using the captivity of Lolong as a money-making scheme. Members of PETA issued the demand without visiting the area and considering the risk posed to people. Lolong is currently placed inside a 800 square meter pen.

Tips on Renewing Your Professional License at PRC

If you are an engineer, a doctor, a nurse or a professional in the Philippines; then I am sure that you visited the office of Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) to to renew your registration. Renewing your professional license can be an inconvenience, especially if you have to file a leave of absence just to renew. Going to the PRC can be less of a bother if you know what to expect when you are renewing your professional license.

For those who are renewing their professional license, please read the regular procedures for professional license renewal. If you in the rush of renewing your license, please read the procedures in applying for Express ID. Before going to the PRC, decide which procedure you want to use because each procedures caters for different needs of professionals.

If you are one of those who are renewing their license, then the following tips will be helpful to you:

Tip # 1: Don't go to PRC during registration of nurses

The nursing profession is one of the professions that has the most number of professionals in the Philippines. I suggest that you avoid going to the PRC during the board exam registration of nurses because PRC office is usually jam packed during those times. I usually see the queue of nurse registrants reach the sidewalks of Espana Boulevard. The large number of people will make it hard for you to move around the PRC office.

Tip # 2: Bring the All the Requirements

The requirement for renewing your professional license are:

1. Application form (PRC Reg Form 003) that can be obtained from the Information Window near the entrance get in PRC central office. The form can also be downloaded from the PRC website (PDF).

2. Two pieces of passport size picture (3.5 cm by 4.5 cm). The picture should be a close-up of your face and colored. The background should be plain white. A complete name tag should be placed at the bottom part of the picture.

3. Photocopy of your recent professional license ID. In case of lost ID, you must provide PRC with an affidavit of loss. If the ID is destroyed, then you must surrender the destroyed ID to the PRC.

Tip # 3: Obtain “Certificate of Good Standing” from your profession's organization

When I first went to the PRC, the clerk don't want to accept my application and told me to go to my accredited organization of my profession to obtain a certificate of good standing. I suggest that you know if you need this certificate before going to the PRC. Professions that require the certificate of good standing are:

*Agricultural Engineers

*Architects

*Customs Brokers

*Electrical Engineers

*Electronics Engineers

*Geodetic Engineers

*Guidance and Counseling

*Interior Designers

*Landscape Architects

Tip # 4: Bring your own photo

There are photo booths located inside the PRC central office. I don't recommend these photo booths because their picture, which they take using a webcam, is crappy. Four pieces of passport size picture, with “free” ID card holder, cost about 80 pesos. Please take note that you only need one photo when you are renewing your license.

What I did is that I made my own passport size photo using Photoshop. I followed the photo requirement of PRC and typed a name tag at the bottom. The format of the name tag is: [your surname], [your given name] [your middle name]. You can print your picture at photo printing shops for as low as 30 pesos.

You don't need to bring your own photo if you are renewing your professional license through the Express ID. PRC's Megadata Office will take the picture, which will be used for your ID.

Tip # 5: Bring enough money

My professional license just expired, so I paid 450 pesos. Expect to pay more than 450 pesos if your license is expired for more than a year because PRC gives penalty to professionals who defer the renewal of their license. There is an additional fee for those who are renewing through Express ID.

Tip # 6: Avoid dealing with fixers

I did not encounter any fixers when I renewed my professional license. The transaction in the PRC is fast, which made fixers irrelevant. However, be conscious of possibility that there are some a people who may trick you when you are t the PRC. I suggest that you only transact with PRC employees.

Renewing your PRC license is an inconvenience but not uneasy. Following the tips that I posted here will make your license renewal faster and easier.

How to Apply for PRC Express ID

In the previous post, I talked about the regular procedure for the application for renewal of professional license at the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC). In the regular procedure, the professional license can only be obtained after three weeks or more after you submitted your application to the PRC.

What if you need to renew your professional license immediately? The solution for that is the PRC’s express ID or fast ID. The processing of professional license through express ID is just few hours. For those who applied for renewal in the morning, the professional license is released in the afternoon. For those who applied for renewal in the afternoon, the professional license can be obtained in the morning the next day.

PRC Express ID Procedure

Step 1: Get the application form (PRC Reg Form 003) from the Information Window, which located near the PRC central office’s entrance gate. The form can also be downloaded from the PRC website (PDF File). Please note that the application form is free of charge.

Step 2: Present the duly accomplished form together with requirements at Window 30, which is the priority window for those applying for Express ID.

Step 3: Go to “Megadata Office” as instructed by the clerk at Window 30. The Megadata personnel will take your photo, which will be used for your professional license ID. Megadata Office is located near the stairs inside the PRC main building.

Step 4: Go to the cashier at Window 36 to pay the fees for license renewal. You will also pay additional fees for the express ID.

Step 5: Get your claim slip at Window 30. The claim slip contains the date when you can claim your professional license. Make sure that you will not lose your claim slip.

Step 6: Claim you professional license at Window 31. The ID can be claimed in the afternoon, if the application was submitted in the morning. Those who applied in the afternoon can claim their ID in morning of the next day.

How to Renew Your Professional License at PRC

My professional license expired last month so I am forced to go to Professional Regulation Commission to renew my professional license. Renewing my professional license is easier as compared to the process that I underwent when I first applied at PRC after I passed the board exam. Sadly, I shelled a large amount of money during the renewal of my license.

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) is the government agency that manages all the professions in the Philippines. All professionals, with the exception of lawyers, are required to register at the PRC. The central office of PRC is located in P. Paredes Street cor. Morayta Street, Sampaloc, Manila. The PRC central office can easily be reached by riding the buses and jeepneys that ply the Fairview – Quiapo route. Just tell the bus conductor or the jeepney driver that you want to go down to Morayta.

Applying for professional license renewal is easy and can be finished in just few hours, especially if you avoided the days of registration of nurses and other professions with large number of applicants. Also, be sure to have extra money with you when renewing your professional license.

Professional License Renewal Procedure

(Take note that the procedure listed here is the regular procedure from renewal of professional license. The procedure for Fast ID or express license renewal is available on the second part of this post)

Step 1: Obtain the application for professional license renewal (PRC Reg Form 003) from the Information Window. This window is located near the entrance gate of the PRC main office. The application form is free of charge. The application form can also be downloaded from the PRC website (PDF File).

Step 2: Present the duly accomplished form together with requirements at the Assessment Windows. The Assessment Windows are Window 17, Window 18 and Window 30. See the third part of this post for the requirements for the renewal of professional license.

Take note that PRC requires updated certificate of membership or certificate of good standing from Accredited Professional Organizations for some professions. Affected professions are:

*Agricultural Engineers

*Architects

*Customs Brokers

*Electrical Engineers

*Electronics Engineers

*Geodetic Engineers

*Guidance and Counseling

*Interior Designers

*Landscape Architects

The certificate requirement for Mechanical Engineers is currently suspended. If your profession is included in the list, I suggest that you visit your Professional Organization to obtain the required certificate before you head to PRC. Assessment Window clerks will not entertain you if you don’t have the required certificate.

Step 3: Pay the prescribed fees at the Cashier at Window 3 or Windows 33 to 36. I paid 450 pesos registration fee because my license just expired this year. I heard that there is an additional fee for those who renew their professional license; years after the license got expired.

Step 4: Get you claim slip at Window 30. Make sure that you will not lose your claim slip because you need it when you claim your new professional license ID. The PRC clerk at Window 30 will write the date when you can claim your professional license. The processing time for the license usually takes about three weeks but a friend told me that processing time can be reduced to a week if there are few people applying for professional license.

Step 5: Claim your professional license on the date written on the claim slip. If you are sending another person to claim your professional license, make sure that person has a special power of attorney or an authorization letter. Authorized representative should also sign the note located at the back page of the claim slip. Professional license can be claimed at Window 31.

PUPCET Schedules for PUP Santa Mesa

The race is on as the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) announced the schedule of PUPCET for its Santa Mesa, Manila main campus. PUPCET for PUP Santa Mesa is scheduled on January 29, 2012.

Here are the schedules for PUP Santa Mesa’s PUPCET:

Schedule of PUPCET online application (via PUP iApply): Sept. 1 to Dec. 4, 2011.

Start of issuance of test permits: Sept. 12, 2011.

Deadline for payment of PUPCET fees: 3:00 PM Dec. 5, 2011 (at any Landbank branch).

Last day of issuance of test permits: Dec. 8, 2011 at Admission and Registration Office (ARO), Ground Floor of the West Wing of Santa Mesa Campus Main Building.

Date of exams: Jan. 29, 2012.

A Taste of Jollibee Menu in the Morning

I usually eat at Jollibee either during lunch or dinner that is why I am not that familiar with the Jollibee Menu for the early morning. I usually eat the Jollibee Chickenjoy or the chicken barbecue. I usually choose any of the meals that I listed in my top five items in Jollibee menu.

Just like McDonalds, Jollibee also offer breakfast meals. Jollibee dubs these early morning meals as “Jollibee Breakfast Joys.” There are only four meal items that are included in the “Jollibee Breakfast Joys” and these are:

Last week, I got a chance to drop by a Jollibee store in the early morning. I was surprised to see some of my “favorite” meals removed from the Jollibee menu and was replaced by the Breakfast Joys. I welcome the change, however, because the available meal items are perfect for breakfast.

I did not choose the Chicken Sausage with Garlic Rice because my breakfast usually has rice or fried rice. I want to try something different so I chose the Chicken Sausage with Pancake meal from the Jollibee menu.

The Chicken Sausage with Pancake breakfast meal has to pieces of chicken sausage and two pieces of pancakes. The meal is OK for me. It is not excellent but it is not terrible. I just hope that Jollibee is more generous for their syrup because what they gave me is not enough to cover the pancakes.

Paperless Transaction via BPI Express Assistant Machine

I recently visited a Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) branch located near my office to deposit some of my hard-earned money. When I entered the BPI branch, the security guard asked me what transaction I will be doing inside the bank. I told him that I will do deposit some money. Instead of letting me go to the corner where the deposit slips are located, the guard told me to go to a newly-installed machine located near the bank entrance. The guard told me that the BPI branch is now using the BPI Express Assistant machine for deposit and withdrawal instructions.

The BPI Express Assistant (BEA) Machine, otherwise named as Customer Transaction Assistant Machine, is like the machines of Smart and Globe Telecoms that automates the transactions being made by their customers. However, unlike the automated machines of Smart and Globe, customers will not place their payments inside the machine.

I found the BPI Express Assistant Machine easy to use, which is very unlike the automated machines of Smart. BPI Express Assistant Machine just automates the filling up of deposit or withdrawal slips. You input the transactions that you want into the machine. The transaction can either be cash or check deposit, SSS or BIR payments, and encashment.

For deposit transactions, you will just input the amount of cash or check that you will deposit. The BPI Express Assistant Machine will then print a number slip, which is is like the number that you get when you are queuing at MERALCO when you pay your bills.

Putting up a BPI Express Assistant Machine is good idea for the Bank of the Philippine Islands. It made my transactions at any BPI branch easier and without the hassle of writing down a lot of things in the deposit slips.

How to Use TDK Flash Lock

I own a 2 gigabytes TDK Flash Disk and it serves me well. The feature that I like with my TDK Flash disk is its flash lock. This feature allows me to create two compartments for my TDK Flash Disk. The first compartment is is used to store files that is OK to be seen by other people. The second compartment contains files that I keep hidden from other peoples' eyes. The second compartment of my flash disk is password protected and can be accessed using the TDK Flash Lock.

The TDK Flash Lock interface is light and easy to use. It contains all the buttons that you need to set up and access the second compartment of your TDK Flash Disk.

Did you delete the TDK Flash Lock software in your flash disk? Well, that is not a problem because you can still download it from TDK. Just visit my post about downloading TDK Flash Lock to solve your problem.

Change the TDK Flash Lock Password

To change the password of your TDK Flash Lock, just click on the “key” button.

A new window will appear wherein you will input the new password that will replace the old password of you TDK Flash Lock. You can also place the password hint that will help you recall the password in case that you forgot it.

Disable the TDK Flask Lock Password

Just click on the button below the “key” button to disable the password of your TDK Flash Lock.

Log-in and Log-out of the Private Compartment

Shifting from the “public” compartment to restricted compartment of your TDK Flash Disk is easy. All you have to do is to click on the “padlock” button of the TDK Flash Lock.

Those are the simple instructions on how to use the flash lock of your TDK Flash Disk. I recommend using the TDK Flash Lock to protect your private files from the eyes of other people. Be reminded that you create back-ups for your files whenever you do some changes on the setting of TDK Flash Lock. Some changes on the flash lock can cause some files in the restricted compartment to be deleted.

Lolong - the Giant Buwaya

The Southern part of the Philippines is popular in the news because of the a giant buwaya that was caught there recently. Buwaya is the Tagalog term for crocodile. The giant buwaya, which was named as “Lolong,” is 6.4 meters (21 feet) long and is now considered as the biggest buwaya ever caught in the Philippines. Lolong was caught after destroying around seven traps that was set up the previous days.

Lolong, the buwaya, was named after the veteran Filipino crocodile hunter Ernesto “Lolong” Coñate, who lead the capture of the giant crocodile. Coñate was called to the Agusan Marsh to capture crocodile Lolong after it was reported that the crocodile killed a schoolgirl and a fisherman.

So where to find the giant crocodile? Lolong was captured in the town of Bunawan in the province of Agusan del Sur. The town is a second class municipality wherein some part of the Agusan Marsh is located. Agusan Marsh is the habitat of various animals, including the Lolong and other buwaya.

The local officials of Bunawan is considering to build an ecopark for Lolong. The buwaya is already a menace to the citizens of Bunawan, that is why releasing Lolong to the wild is not being considered. The local government also consider making Lolong as the town's tourist attraction.

How to Use PUPCET iApply

The Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) had just opened the online application for its college entrance exam, or more popularly known as the PUPCET. The online application for PUPCET is open from September 1 to December 2011 and is only for the PUP Santa Mesa (Main) Campus. Online and manual application for PUPCET for other PUP campuses is yet to be announced.

Visit my other post about PUPCET for information on who is qualified to take the PUPCET. You can also visit another post containing tips for the PUPCET.

Online application for PUPCET can be done on PUP’s iApply website. The website performs well using the Google Chrome 5, Mozilla Firefox 3 or Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 or the higher versions of those browsers.

How to Apply for PUPCET using iApply

Step 1: Visit the PUP iApply website and click on the “Apply Now” button, which is located at the bottom of the web page:

Step 2: Read the “Article Agreement,” which will pop out after you click the iApply button. Click the “I have read, understood and agree on the PUP iApply System Terms and Conditions” button located at the end of the agreement.

Step 3: Select the Test that you want to take. Just click on the “PUPCET” button if you are applying for PUPCET for 2012-2013.

Step 4: Answer some questions about your qualification for PUPCET. Read the questions well and select the option, by clicking the radio button that corresponds to your answer.

Step 5: Fill the Application Form. Make sure that the information that you supply in the application form is correct. Any misrepresentation can be a ground for the nullification of your PUPCET result.

Step 6: On the next page, please check if the information you placed on the Application Form is correct. Be sure that your complete name is the same as the one indicated on your birth certificate issued by the National Statistic Office (NSO). Click on the “Make Changes” button if you want to change some information. Click the “Next” button if everything is correct. Don’t forget to check the box beside the “Yes, I have read and understand this Service Agreement, Terms of Use and Privacy Policy,” place your digital signature and type in the Digital Security Image.

Step 7: Click the “Display Voucher” button on the next page. Print the voucher because you will need it when you pay the PUPCET Application Fee at Landbank. Just click the “Print this Payment Voucher” link, located at the top of the page, to print the voucher.

Now that you have your payment voucher, all you need to do is to go to any Landbank branch and pay the PUPCET Application Fee. Don’t forget to bring your payment voucher when you go to Landbank.

PUPCET 2012 Online Application is Now Open

The Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) had just opened the online application for 4th year high school students who want to take the PUP College Entrance Test (PUPCET). The PUP Santa Mesa Campus, which is the university's main campus, accepts online application from September 1 to December 4, 2011.

PUPCET applicants must visit PUP's iApply website to register online. There is no manual application for the PUP Santa Mesa Campus. The only option for the PUPCET applicants who want to study at the PUP main campus is the online application.

Please take note that each applicant is only allowed to apply and take the PUPCET at one campus and only once this school year. Double application will result in the nullification of the applicant's PUPCET result.

PUPCET Qualifications

Here is the qualifications for those who will take the PUPCET:

*The applicant should be a graduating high school student of the current schoolyear.

*High school graduates who are not enrolled in any technical, diploma or degree program after graduating from high school.

*A Philippine Educational Placement Test (PEPT) passer can also qualify to take PUPCET. The PEPT passer should have scores of 82 or higher in Mathematics, Communication Arts (English and Filipino), Science, and Araling Panlipunan.

*An Alternative Learning System Accreditation & Equivalency (ALS A & E) Test for Secondary Level passer can also qualify the PUPCET. The ALSA & E passer should be eligible for admission to college and has 100 or higher Standard Score (SS) and an essay writing proficiency level of 2 or higher.

PUPCET Fee

Applicants should pay the 500 pesos PUPCET fee. Payment can be made at any Land Bank of the Philippines (Landbank) branches nationwide. The PUPCET fee is nonrefundable and nontransferable.

Applicants that applied for PUPCET through the manual application should pay at the PUP Cashier located in the campus.

How to Claim the PUPCET Permit

Please take note that online applicants can only claim their PUPCET permit three working days after paying at Landbank. Saturday, Sunday and holidays are not considered as working days. The permit should be claimed personally by the applicant. To claim the PUPCET permit, online applicants should bring the following:

*PUPCET 2012 Application Payment Voucher that was printed from the PUP iApply website.

*PUPCET fee payment receipt from Landbank.

*Original Form 138 (F138) with school dry seal for high school graduates that is not yet enrolled in any technical, diploma or degree program. Certified true copy can be accepted if the original F138 is lost.

*Duly authenticated copy of the PEPT or ALS A&E Test Certificate of Rating, certified by the DepEd-BALS.

*School ID for current high school students. Any valid ID with picture for high school graduates.

Applicants to PUP Santa Mesa Campus can claim the PUPCET permit at Admission and Registration Office (ARO) located at the Ground Floor of the West Wing of Santa Mesa Campus Main Building. Online and manual applicants to other PUP campus can claim their PUPCET permit at the Admissions and Registration Office located within each campus. The permit can be claimed from each ARO from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday.

Applicants to PUP College of Technology should personally claim their permit from the Registrar's Office, after payment at the cashier's office. The permit can be claimed from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday to Friday.

Jollitown is the popular children-oriented TV show that stars Jollibee and his friends. It is being aired every Sunday morning at ABS-CBN.

I was surprised to discover that Jollitown can not only be found on TV but is also present in the Internet. Yes, Jollitown has an online game and I am sure that certified Jollitown fanatics will like it because it allows them to play with Jollibee, Twirlie, Hetty, Popo and Yum.

Available Cebu Pacific promo fares include 288 pesos promo for flight from Davao to Cagayan de Oro. 488 pesos promo fare is also available for flights between Manila and Cagayan de Oro. These two Cebu Pacific promo fares are for October 1 to November 30, 2011 travel dates.

My Favorites on Chowking Menu

My previous boss on my first job is a great fan of Chowking. Whenever we go out of the office for fieldworks, my boss always chose to eat at Chowking to eat his favorite congee with century egg. I am not a fan of Chowking's congee because I just consider it as expensive regular “lugaw.” So, whenever we eat out at Chowking, I usually order one of Chowking's noodles.

Chowking is a fast food restaurant that offers Chinese dishes. Siomai, siopao and Chinese noodles are few of the food items that can be found on the Chowking menu. Of the many items being offered by Chowking menu, I only have three favorites and these are:

1. Chowking Halo-halo

Chowking halo-halo is the most popular dessert on the Chowking menu although it is more of a Filipino dessert than a Chinese one. What I like about Chowking's halo-halo is its being kumpledos rekados (complete in ingredients) because this halo-halo has all the usual toppings like sweet beans, nata de coco, kaong, sweetened banana and leche flan plus; one scoop of ice cream.

2. Chowking Beef Noodles

I said in a previous post that Chowking's noodles are like the thicker version of the Lucky Me! Noodles. Chowking's beef noodle is a tasty noodle soup that has chunks of beef meat on it. The taste of this noodle soup is quite OK and I order it whenever I want to have a “masabaw” (soupy) meal.

3. Chinese-style Chicken

Chowking's Chinese-style Chicken is the latest item on the Chowking menu. Chowking's TV commercial brags that many people like their Chinese-style chicken and I believe that that it's true. Chowking's Chinese-style chicken is crunchy and tasty. It is definitely better than the fried chicken of Jollibee and McDonalds.

These are three of my favorite Chowking meals. I am not a fan of Chowkings congee and chao fan (fried rice) because my mother can cook better tasting lugaw and sinangag at home. So, if you will ever see me eat at Chowking, expect that you will see me eat any of these three items from the Chowking menu.

What Team Azkal can Learn from the Philippine Dragonboat Team

Team Azkal went out of the media spotlight after they were defeated by the Kuwaitis last July. Their defeat in the hands of Kuwaitis spelled the end of their fight in the FIFA qualifying rounds and also ended them being hounded by the media and paparazzi. The vacuum that was left by the Team Azkal was now filled by the Philippine Dragonboat Federation Team that recently won gold medals in a competition in America.

Is the Team Azkal disheartened because of their defeat? Will they be less motivated to practice just because the media hype died down? These are some questions that are being ask by many people now that the team will be out of the public's short-term memory. The loss of public attention should not put the Team Azkal down. What the team must do is to look at the Philippine Dragonboat Team as their inspiration to continue what they started.

Team Azkal can learn many things from the Philippine Dragonboat Team and here are some of them:

1. Practice makes a strong team – some “sports analysts” commented that Team Azkal still lacks unity and that's one reason why Azkals were defeated by the seasoned Kuwaiti soccer players. This is understandable because the Team Azkal was just newly established. The Azkals should look at the Philippine Dragonboat Team as example for team unity. The paddlers became victorious becausde they were able to row their boat as if they are just one person. They were able to achieve this unity because their continuous practice made them experience hardships together, thus creating a strong bond between members. Team Azkal should also strengthen the bond between team members and they can only have achieve this by following the formula of the Philippine Dragonboat Team.

2. Continue playing even if there is no media hype – Team Azkal got the attention of the Philippine media the moment that their team was established. Reporters followed the Azkals 24 hours a day and most of their antics are shown on TV. Some of the Azkals also got tangled up with showbiz controversies that also boosted the team's popularity. What will happen to the Azkals now that the media hype is dead? The answer is that they shouldn't allow it to affect them and look for the paddlers for inspiration. The Philippine Dragonboat Team practiced and fought in many competitions without any getting any media attention. The absence of media attention and public recognition might have disheartened the paddlers but that did not prevent them from moving forward.

3. Don't let the government destroy their motivation – The Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) doesn't recognize the Philippine Dragonboat Team. Due to this, the paddlers never expect to receive any form of support from the Philippine government. This does not stop the paddlers to continue practicing and participating in various competitions. Team Azkal should also accept the fact that the Philippine government is not reliable when it comes to financial and even moral support.

These are few of the lessons that the Team Azkal can learn from the Philippine Dragonboat Team. I hope that the Azkals will continue to persevere even if they are not that popular anymore. What the team will experience in the next years was also experienced by the paddlers. Azkals should continue playing and follow the example of the paddlers so they will surely succeed in their goal to play in FIFA.

Korea's biggest electronics show is back and ready to show to the whole world the best products that the Electronics Industry from 30 different countries have to offer. The 42nd Korea Electronics Show has a theme, “Be SmArt!” and will showcase over 1,000 companies.

As the 4th ranking country in electronics today, Korea's stake in the Electronics Industry is high. In the malls here in the Philippines, I always see gadgets and electronic products that came from Korea. Cellular phones, computers, electronic appliances, and other innovative gadgets are being imported by Korea's electronics industry. The Korea Electronics Show (KES) that is being held regularly in Korea is a proof of the electronics industry's great importance, not only in Korea but also in the whole world.

The Korea Electronics Show last year is a huge success. About 1,823 representative buyers of IT industries from 23 nations participated in the 2010 Korea Electronics Show. How PHIVOLCS Measure the Strength of Earthquakes

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) is the government agency that deals with tectonic and volcanic activities in the Philippines. One of the major concerns of this government agency is the monitoring of earthquakes that affects the country.

The Philippines is located at the rim of the Pacific Ring of Fire and the country experiences mild earthquakes every day because of this. With the many earthquakes that rock the country every day, how does PHIVOLCS determine if the earthquake is destructive or not? The answer to that is the PEIS.

PEIS stands for PHIVOLCS Earthquake Intensity Scale. It measures how the earthquake is felt in an area. The PEIS is felt on the relative effect of the earthquake to people, structures, objects and surroundings. The scale starts from Intensity I, which is the weakest, to Intensity X, which is the strongest.

Here is the scale as established by PHIVOLCS on PEIS:

Intensity I: Scarcely Perceptible.

Intensity II: Slightly Felt

Intensity III: Weak

Intensity IV: Moderately Strong

Intensity V: Strong

Intensity VI: Very Strong

Intensity VII: Destructive

Intensity VIII: Very Destructive

Intensity IX: Devastating

Intensity X: Completely Devastating

PHIVOLCS Liquefaction Susceptibility Map

In the previous post, I talked about the dangers of landslides that usually occur during earthquakes. Because of the dangers of landslides, PHIVOLCS created Earthquake-induced Landslide Susceptibility maps to help the public know which laces in the Philippines are under the risk of landslide. Another effect that may result from earthquake is liquefaction.

Liquefaction is a phenomenon where the soil that has mixture of liquid, which the usual example is underground water, act like a liquid because of intense shaking caused by earthquakes. Liquefaction usually occurs in places that have During an earthquake, the soil became separated because of shaking and water will come in to fill the gaps between soil particles. Because of this, soil will act like a fluid and will cause the structures on it to sink. Liquefaction usually occurs on areas where the ground is saturated with groundwater or salt water coming from the sea.

The effect of liquefaction is grave, that's why PHIVOLCS created the Liquefaction Susceptibility Map. However, unlike the other maps from PHIVOLCS, Liquefaction Susceptibility Map has only two maps. One is a general map that covers the whole Philippines. The other Liquefaction Susceptibility Map covers Metro Manila and vicinity.

According to PHIVOLCS map, the areas in Metro Manila that are high risk from liquefaction are the City of Manila and the areas in Pasig City located beside Laguna Lake. Areas that have moderate risk from liquefaction are areas beside the Manila Bay, Laguna Lake and Marikina River. Areas on “higher” elevation, like Quezon City, have low risk of experiencing liquefaction.

Soil liquefaction is an important factor to consider when buying real estate properties. You must ensure that the land that you are buying is safe from this phenomenon. If you are already owning a lot located on an area that is at risk from liquefaction, then you must make sure that the house or structure that you are building on it are “liquefaction-proof.”

PHIVOLCS Landslide Susceptibility Maps

The Philippines is still waiting for the so-called “big one,” which is a strong earthquake that will be generated by the long-overdue Marikina Fault. PHIVOLCS is doing the necessary preparations for earthquakes. The agency also reminds the public to be prepared.

Aside from the earthquake, PHIVOLCS is also reminding the people about the possibility of landslides during and after an earthquake occurred. As a part of preparation schemes, PHIVOLCS prepared the “Earthquake-triggered Landslide Susceptibility Map.” This map shows how susceptible an area in the Philippines are from landslides.

Based on the overview map that is available on the PHIVOLCS website, the areas that are high risk for earthquake-triggered landslide are mountainous areas like the Cordilleras.

The map is shaded in different colors and every color has different meanings. The gray shade means that the area is not susceptible to earthquake-triggered landslide. Areas in green shade means that at risk to landslide at 0.3 MMI-IX and PEIS-VIII. Areas in orange shade are at risk from landslide at 0.15 MMI-VIII and PEIS-VIII. Areas in magenta are at risk from landslide at 0.07 MMI-VII and PEIS-VII. Lastly, areas in red shade are at risk from landslide at 0.04 MMI-VI and PEIS-VI.

MMI stands for Modified Mercali while PEIS stands for PHIVOLCS Earthquake Intensity Scale.

Aside from the overview map, PHIVOLCS also has Regional Maps of the “Earthquake-triggered Landslides Susceptibility Map” for regional and better view of the landslide prone areas.

Avast Anti-Virus Software

The laptop that I have been using right now suffered a grave infection of computer virus. The condition of my laptop gave me no choice but to reformat the hard drive and re-install the operating system. Reformatting my laptop is a hassle because I also had to to re-install other software that I am using for my work. Also, some of the files in my laptop can't be recovered and were deleted together with the virus.

The reason why my laptop contracted deadly computer virus is that it doesn't have any anti-virus software. Having an anti-virus software is vital because it protects the laptop and computer from the attacks of virus, Trojan horse, malwares and other malicious programs. However, I can't afford the expensive anti-virus software so I had to make-do with the free versions of anti-virus software. I both use Avira Anti-Virus and AVG on my office computer. They work in tandem in my office computer so that if a virus can't be detected by Avira then it can be detected by AVG, and vice versa.

I downloaded Avira and AVG from the Internet for my laptop. Unfortunately, errors keep on cropping up whenever I install both anti-virus software. My operating system (OS) is Windows XP, which is the same OS as in my office computer. I can't find the reason why Avira and AVG keep on having installation errors. I also tried Panda Cloud Anti-Virus but it also have installation errors.

I discovered Avast while I search the Internet for solutions on the installation errors. A comment in a forum said that Avast is better than Avira because it doesn't have installation issues. The comment is correct and now my laptop is enjoying the benefits of Avast Anti-Virus.

The interface of Avast Anti-Virus is almost similar to Avira when it comes to being user friendly. Features that are not present on Avira is the AutoSandbox feature. This feature of Avast forces suspicious files and programs to run inside the anti-virus software, thus protecting the OS and files from malicious files and programs. I encountered the AutoSandbox when I used the TDK Flash Lock software.

Just like AVG, Avast also rates and scan websites that I visited while surfing the Internet. It automatically blocks suspicious websites and pages. I encountered this feature when I visited a page on Mang Inasal's website. I don't know if I will get annoyed by this feature of Avast in the future, but for now I am thankful that this feature protects my laptop from suspicious websites.

What I like the most with Avast is that it automatically updates its virus definition. In Avira, I had to manually update the software, which I usually forgot to do. Avast, on the other hand, updates the software whenever the computer connects to the Internet.

Of the four Anti-Virus software that I used, I place Avast in the first place, followed by Avira, AVG and Norton.

One of my office problems is that I feel back pains whenever I go home from work. As the work week wore on, the pain on my back becomes more pronounced and is unbearable at some times. Avoid being a Budol Budol Gang Victim

I talked about an incident where somebody accused me of being a Budol Budol Gang. In that incident, I lent my cellular phone to a stranger. After a few hours, someone is sending me text messages accusing me that I stole his friend’s phone. I know that I did not do anything so I believe that person is just scaring me so that I can give in to his demands.

Scaring gullible people so as to put them under control are just one of the tricks being used by the Budol Budol Gang. The gang is more popular in using hypnotism and the power of suggestion to control the minds of its victims.

My elementary teacher was a victim of Budol Budol Gang. According to her, she met a stranger while she is doing her shopping at our town’s market. The stranger told her that he will give her money if she allowed him to go to her house. From then on she can’t recall what happened to her. Her housemaid filled in the details for her. The maid said that my teacher and a stranger entered the house. My teacher went in her room and brought her jewelries and gave it to the stranger. After the stranger left, my teacher started crying and she said “na budol budol ako.”

My boss told me of another Budol Budol Gang story. He said that his friend was tricked by Budol Budol Gang to withdraw all of his money in ATM. My boss said that my friend is in front of an ATM when a lady approached her and took his ATM receipt. Then a man told him to withdraw all his money, which he obliged without hesitation. He can’t recall what happened but he knew that the balance of his ATM account is zero and the two strangers are gone.

Stories like those of my teacher and my boss’ friend can cause Goosebumps to many of us but there should be no room for fear because it is fear and other emotions that the Budol Budol Gang use to control their victims.

So, how can you avoid being a victim of the Budol Budol Gang? Here’s how:

1. Always be Vigilant at All Times

Being vigilant is your best weapon against Budol Budol Gang. A vigilant person has an alert mind and an alert mind is not fall easily to the tricks of Budol Budol Gang. If you are withdrawing money from the ATM, always observe the people behind you. If you notice that someone is approaching or getting to close to you, look the person in the eye and told him to stay away and wait a little. If the members of Budol Budol Gang noticed that you are vigilant then will avoid you and they will look for easier prey.

2. Don’t Talk to Strangers

In a bus, an old lady started talking to me. She told many things about her life, the War, her daughters. Before I go down the bus, she told me if she could see my palm because she is good in palmistry. Fortunately, the bus stop on my destination and I left the old lady. I don’t know why but I am suspicious of the old lady. Is she just bored for the whole duration of the travel that’s why she wants someone to talk to? The lesson here is to avoid talking to strangers as much as possible. Budol Budol Gang members are good speakers and use the power of suggestion to bend their victim’s mind. My teacher became a victim because a stranger talked to her.

3. Don’t Walk Alone

As much as possible, have someone accompany you whenever you travel. Two heads are harder to hypnotize. However, if both you are not vigilant then both of you can fall prey to the Budol Budol Gang. A commenter on my old post about Budol Budol Gang said that the two of them were hypnotized in an SM Mall in Las Piñas City. They surrendered their laptop, SLR camera and a cellular phone to the criminals.

Those are three of the tips that I can share to avoid being a victim of the Budol Budol Gang. Keep these things in mind to keep yourself safe from these criminals.

One risk when using a flash drive is that virus and malwares often get into the drive and corrupt the files inside. There are also new subdivisions that are being developed in the city.

This Tagaytay home was developed by Anhawan Development Inc. and Royal Asia Multi-Properties. It is located along Tagaytay Mendez Road in Patutong Malaki North, Tagaytay City. One of the advantage of Ashiyana Tagaytay over other Tagaytay homes is that it is located near Jollibee and McDonalds, so you don't need to go far away just to eat your favorite McDo items or Langhap Sarap meals.

Leptospira Symptoms

In the previous post, I talked about how to avoid canine leptospirosis or simply leptospirosis. I also mentioned that leptospirosis (or leptospira) can be obtained by exposing oneself to soil or water that are contaminated with Leptospira bacteria.

What if you suspect that you are exposed to soil or water contaminated with Leptospira bacteria? How will you know if the bacteria already entered your body and wreaking havoc to your health?

According to Medicinet, Leptospira symptoms occur about 25 days after the exposure to the Leptospira bacteria. Leptospirosis is a biphasic disease. Biphasic means that this disease has two phases. For the first phase, the leptospira symptom is general flu-like symptom that include headache, muscle pain, eye pain because of bright lights, chills and fever.

The person then begins to be asymptomatic or doesn't show any symptoms.

The second phase occurs few days after feeling better during the asymptomatic period. Leptospira symptoms in the second phase include the symptoms during the first phase and stiffness of the neck. Other symptoms are meningitis (inflammation of the nerves to the eyes, brain and spinal column), renal failure and liver damage that results to jaundice.

Leptospirosis is usually wrongly diagnosed because it has wide range of symptoms. Thus, people who suspects that they have leptospirosis should tell their doctors the instance when they were exposed to the Leptospira bacteria.

How to Avoid Canine Leptospirosis

Typhoon and floods - these are things that is brought by the Rainy Season. The Rainy Season is also the season of various illneses and one of the fatal disease that is popular during this is season is leptospirosis.

Canine leptospirosis is disease that affects both animals and humans. The disease is caused by bacteria of the genus Leptospira and is known to damage the kidneys and livers of dogs. There are also reported canine leptospirosis that affects the lungs of causing severe hemorrhage.

Canine leptospirosis is commonly transferred through water or mud that contains Leptospira bacteria, which came from the urine of animals infected with canine leptospirosis. There other ways to be infected with canine leptospirosis other then being exposed to Leptospira contaminated water. The bacteria can enter the body through wounds or break in the skin, swallowing contaminated water, and splashing contaminated water to the eyes and nose. Canine leptospirosis can also be contracted through other means. Being exposed to blood or body fluids of animals infected with canine leptospirosis is one way to contract the disease. Veterinarians, slaughterhouse, and people working with animals have the risk of contracting canine leptospirosis.

Vaccine against canine leptospirosis is not yet exisiting for humans. There anti-leptospirosis vaccines against animals but those are just for few strains of the Leptospira bacteria. Because of this lack of vaccine, the best way to prevent contracting canine leptospirosis is the reduce exposure to contaminated water. Here are some ways to avoid canine leptospirosis.

1. Avoid flood and other possibly contaminated water – floods are everywhere during the Rainy Season. Metro Manila, a known haven for rats and stray dogs and cats, has many areas that are flooded with water from the sewers and esteros overflowing to the streets. Avoid flooded areas as much as possible, especially if you have wounds or openings on your skin. Never swallow flood water.

2. Wear gloves when working with mud and moist soil – Leptospira bacteria are known to thrive on moist area. This means that you can still contract canine leptospirosis if you expose yourself with contaminated mud or moist soil.

3. Wear proper gears when working with animals – Slaughterhouse workers should make sure that they wear proper gear when working with animals. Gloves and proper uniform serve as added protection to Leptospira bacteria that are possibly present in blood and body fluids of animals. This reminder is also applicable to veterinarians and other people working with animals.

4. Avoid eating “double dead” meat – “Double dead” meat are meat that came from animals that died because of disease. It is possible that the “double dead” meat came from an animal that came from an animal that died because of canine leptospirosis. Also, I recommend that you cook your food well to make sure that all bacteria, including the Leptospira bacteria, die during the cooking process.

It is said that prevention is the best cure. This adage is also applicable with canine leptospirosis. The best way to avoid canine leptospirosis is to avoid it by avoiding water, mud or other medium that are contaminated with the Leptospira bacteria.

New on Jollibee Menu: Jolly Crispy Fries Sour Cream

Jollibee keeps on pumping out new items on Jollibee menu. Last time I talked about the Jollibee Float. Now, Jollibee reinvented its French fries by creating two new flavors. The two new flavors of Jollibee's French fries are the Jolly Crispy Fries Cheese and the Jolly Crispy Fries Sour Cream.

Me and my beloved saw these new items on the Jollibee menu that's why we gave it a try. My beloved chose the Jolly Crispy Fries Sour Cream. The cashier told us that the new fries are only available in “large” size only. There is no such thing as regular sized Jolly Crispy Fries Sour Cream. I wondered why because it is easy to offer French fries in “regular” size no matter what the flavor is.

According to iSoda, he found the Jolly Crispy Fries Sour Cream as tasteless. He said that he ended up eating it with ketchup just for it to have a taste. We did not have the same experience with our Jolly Crispy Fries. Our Jolly Crispy Fries Sour Cream taste what it should taste and it tastes as fried potatoes with sour cream.

Maybe iSoda's fries became tasteless because the Jollibee crew did not put enough sour cream flavor on his fries. That is possible because fastfoods have notorious reputation when it comes to controlling the quality of food that they serve for their customers.

I do agree with iSoda and I say that potato fries taste much better on stalls that specialize on selling fried potatoes. I remember one stall where sister and I bought fried potatoes on sticks that have delicious flavor. I forgot the name but their shops are located on MRT and LRT stations and along corridors inside major malls.

Cebu Pacific Promo Fares to Tawi-Tawi

Last Wednesday (June 22), I received an e-mail from Cebu Pacific. The message goes like this “Fly to our newest destination Tawi-Tawi for only P488!”

I said, “Wow!” because I am thinking that I can reach Tawi-Tawi from my Manila on a single flight because of Cebu Pacific promo fares to Tawi-Tawi.

Reading the e-mail made me realize that I am celebrating too early. The 488 pesos Cebu Pacific promo fares are for flights between Zamboanga City and Tawi-Tawi and not between Manila and Tawi-Tawi. So, this means that I need to go to Zamboanga City first before I can avail those Cebu Pacific promo fares.

The seat sale price for the Zamboanga to Tawi-Tawi route is 25% less than the lowest year-round fare for this route. Tawi-Tawi is the 50th destination and the 77th route of Cebu Pacific Airline. The Zamboanga – Tawi-Tawi route will operate daily starting October 14 this year.

Another new route is the Cagayan de Oro – Iloilo route, which also start operating on October 14 and have scheduled flights every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Also announced in the e-mail is the Cebu Pacific promo fares of 688 pesos for travel from Zamboanga City to Davao and Cebu, Manila to Cagayan de Oro, and Cagayan de Oro to Iloilo.

Manila to Zamboanga and Davao flights are also on seat sale for 888 pesos for travels on August 1 to September 30 for the year 2011.

What is WTO DSU?

One day, I encountered the acronym WTO DSU. I am familiar with the acronym WTO but I don't know what DSU means. According to Wikipedia, WTO DSU means World Trade Organization Dispute Settlement Understanding.

World Trade Organization or WTO is an international organization that aims to improve trade between member nations by developing policies that are advantageous for all member nations. Because WTO is composed various nations, then it is normal that disputes arise between member nations.

The acronym DSU from the WTO DSU stands for Dispute Settlement Understanding. The WTO DSU was developed to settle disputes between member nations and ensure the stability of global economy. Disputes arises when a member nation adopted a policy or policies that deprive another nation of benefits that it is so entitled according to existing trade agreements. The aggrieved nation is allowed to file a formal complaint to the World Trade Organization regarding the said policy or policies. After the complaint was filed, the WTO DSU will be used to settle the dispute.

The whole process of WTO DSU can last approximately around 1 year to 3 months, that is if the member nation that has raised the questionable policy appealed before the WTO Dispute Settlement Board.

Trainspotters - Who are They?

The Metro Rail Transit (MRT), Light Rail Transit (LRT) and the Philippine National Railway Corporation (PNRC) are the three train companies that are operating in the Philippines. I already rode the trains of MRT and LRT. I am yet to ride the train of PNRC and I want to experience riding on PNRC's sleeper coach on a travel from Manila to Bicolandia.

Riding a train is just a normal and boring experience for people like me. I climb the train station, pay the ticket and then board the train. On ordinary days, a typical train rider has to experience a scene like this:

The photo above shows what is inside a MRT coach during rush hours. It is crowded and you will be crushed if you stand near the train doors.

Riding a train is just normal experience and I never thought that there are groups of people who enjoyed seeing, photographing and reading about railways and trains. These people are usually called as trainspotters. According to Wikipedia, trainspotters are different from railfans though both of them are interested on trains and other things related to the operation of the railway network.

Trainspotters are people who aims to “spot” (hence the name trainspotters) trains or any type of rolling stocks depending on the interest of the trainspotter. Some trainspotters spot trains of particular type, or of particular railway company, etc.

Trainspotters, for me, have a unique kind of hobby and only few people have such kind of hobby. I am yet to meet a Filipino trainspotter. However, I had a friend in Facebook who is part of a society of railfans and are interested with the railway system of the Philippines.

Coron Resorts

Coron is a municipality in Palawan Province and is composed of many islands. The main part of the town of Coron is on the southeastern half of Busuanga Island. Being a town that is composed of many islands makes it a good place for beaches and good resorts. Coron is popular for its clear seas, pristine beaches and untouched environment. I am hoping to reach Coron in the future just to see the beautiful things that it offers.

As for now, I will content myself in giving a list of three Coron Resorts.

1. KokosNuss Garden Resort

This is a Coron Resort that has a weird sounding name. But when you consider the fact that it KokosNuss Garden Resort is owned by two Germans, then you will see why the reason for the name. This Coron Resort is located on a hill about a kilometer away from the poblacion or center of Coron town. As the name implies, visitors of this Coron Resort will experience the relaxing ambiance of being in the middle of garden.

This Coron Resort have nipa huts as amenities for its visitors. This Coron resort has a garden restaurant where visitors can enjoy local, Asian and European cuisine.

2. El Rio y Mar Resort

Another Coron resort is El Rio y Mar Resort. This Coron resort is located about 30 minutes from the Busuanga Airport. The resort has an outdoor pool, billiard tables and massage areas. Visitors to this Coron can enjoy fishing and sailing. The rooms in this resort can only accommodate maximum of two persons. This Coron resort offers an airport shuttle for its visitors.

3. Club Paradise Resort Palawan

This Coron resort has 52 rooms available for its guests. Club Paradise Resort Palawan offers ballroom dancing, beach volleyball and billiard tables. This Coron resorts also has conference rooms that is suitable for out-of-town forums or seminars.

Aside from the normal amenities, this Coron resort also offers tours to Coron Island and Caluit Island. The resort is also good for diving enthusiasts because it offers diving facilities for its guests.

Zooey Golden Box

Orocan is the most popular brand when it comes to plastic wares and furnitures made of plastic. Of course there are brands that are competing against Orocan in the Philippine local market and that is Zooey.

Zooey touts itself as the “maker of quality plastic.” Just like Orocan, Zooey has a wide variety of plastic-made items and one of those items is the Zooey Golden Box.

Zooey Golden Box is not actually made of gold nor just a big box. It is a cabinet with six drawers. In the past, when we need a cabinet, all my father has to do is make one. However, now, it is easier to buy a cabinet than to make one. That is why when my mother needs a cabinet, she just went to the palengke (market) and buy her cabinet from the local stores.

The price of Zooey Golden Box is around 1,000 pesos but you can haggle with the store owner to lower the price. The plastic cabinets can be used to store many things like clothes, papers, etc. The top two drawers have a lock but can’t be relied upon to secure valuable items because the lock can easily be opened by any item that can fit in the keyhole.

Zooey Golden Box is a fine product but because it is made of plastic, this cabinet is fragile and can be broken into bits. However, if you are a sort of person who are careful then owning a Zooey Golden Box is not a problem.

HIIT Routine

Last week, I read about HIIT or High Intensity Interval Training from the blog of my friend FoongPC. According to him, he is doing HIIT routine to replace his routines for his exercise. FoongPC said that he likes HIIT routine because it saves time, strengthen the heart, helps him lose fat more effectively, helps him look younger and help him build a better looking body.

I believe that HIIT is a good form of exercise. A HIIT routine is composed of high intensity exercise followed by low intensity exercises that help the muscle and body recover from the high intensity exercise. Another good thing about HIIT routine is that it is not confined to only one form of exercise. You can apply HIIT routine to other activities like running, walking on the treadmill and other form of exercise. To help you in your exercise, here is my friend’s HIIT routine:

My friend’s HIIT Routine: Jogging or Running

HIIT routine for jogging or running is the one preferred by my friend. According to him, he start his HIIT routine by running fast for one minute. After that, we jog or walk moderately for 3 minutes. He alternate fast run and the moderate jog for 6 to 7 times. My friend said that HIIT routine for jogging or running quite demanding that is why he is only able to do it for 2 to 3 times per week.

Tubing Connection by Crimping PEX

PEX is an abbreviation for cross-linked polyethylene. PEX is usually used in tubing especially for the water system for residential and commercial purposes. PEX became popular because it is flexible and can be bent easily without breaking. Because of this, PEX tubes can easily transported without the need for it be cut into pieces just to fit inside containers. Also, PEX' flexibility means that it does not need any joints unlike metal and PVC pipes.

Crimping is a process of joining two pieces of metal or tubing by deforming one of the metals being joined like when joining a cartridge to the bullet. Another form of crimping is used in crimping PEX tubing wherein a metallic tube is used to join two PEX tubes.

Crimping PEX is very easy to do and the best way of joining two PEX tubes.
