My Top Five Jollibee Menu

Ask any kid who lives in the Philippines on what is his/her favorite fastfood restaurant and it is highly probable that that the answer that you will get is Jollibee. I don't know how the big red bee managed to get into the hearts of the Filipino people. Is it because of Jollibee's jolly-looking mascot? Or is it because of a wide array of Jollibee Menu or food that are perceived by the people as “masarap.”

Jollibee is so popular in the Philippines that almost every block in Metro Manila has one Jollibee store. Jollibee somehow thwarted McDonalds goal of invading the Philippines.

As I had said, Jollibee Menu has a wide array of food items. So, in Jollibee Menu, what are the top five food? Here is my list:

1. Yum Burger
Jollibee menu: Burger Yum!
Jollibee Yumburger
Leading on my list of best food in Jollibee Menu is the Yum Burger. I believe that it is one of the top food in Jollibee Menu because of its popularity. As far as I know, Yum Burger is not the best burger in the Philippines. The patty is not pure beef and can be liken to the ones being sold by Angel Burger and other food stands located on sidewalks. However, I observed that Yum Burger is the most ordered food in Jollibee Menu.

2. Sundae

Looking for sweets in Jollibee Menu? I bet that you will order Jollibee's Sundae as your dessert. Sundae is the counterpart of Yum Burger in terms of popularity. The simple Sundae of the past now has various flavors. On the Jollibee Menu, you will find Chocolate Sundae, Choco Crumble Sundae and Rocky Road Brownie Sundae.

3. Jollibee Chickenjoy
.

This is another popular item on Jollibee Menu. If a Jollibee costumer wants to eat a heavy meal or a meal with, you can bet that it is very likely that the customer will choose the Jollibee Chickenjoy with rice. As for me, the Jollibee Chickenjoy is OK. It is crunchy and yummy. However, I still prefer the fried chicken that is cooked in my home.

4. Jollibee Chicken BBQ
.

When I ordering a heavy meal at Jollibee, I usually pick the Jollibee Chicken BBQ on the Jollibee Menu. I think that it taste better than the Jollibee Chickenjoy because it is less bland because of the honey sauce. My only complaint with the chicken bbq is that sometimes it is burnt or charred.

5. Creamy Macaroni Soup
.

This is my favorite of all the food on Jollibee Menu. When I am still working in a small company, my co-worker and I usually eat at Jollibee. I always choose either the Shanghai Rolls or the Burger Steak, which I partner with creamy macaroni soup. Too bad that Jollibee removed it from the 39ers Value Meal. Seems like Jollibee noticed that it is a quite popular item on Jollibee Menu.

So, that’s my top five food on Jollibee Menu. How about you? What's your favorite on Jollibee Menu?

Feel Cool with Tagaytay Zipline

In the first post of this series, I talked about Majayjay Falls. Now, let us go to another good place to cool down this Summer. This place is none other than Tagaytay City. Once you are in this city, I assure you that you will feel cool because of its cool climate. There are times that fogs form in Tagaytay City even if it is afternoon.

One thing that is getting popular in Tagaytay City is the Tagaytay Zipline, which can be found in Picnic Grove. Tagaytay Zipline is an exciting activity inside Picnic Grove and many visitors are trying it.

Tagaytay Zipline is exciting because its cables cross the chasm between the two high places in Picnic Grove. Once you try the Tagaytay Zipline, you will feel the cold air rushing in your face. Also, you will see the the world-famous Taal Volcano while you are rushing down to the other side.
 .
Somebody is enjoying the Tagaytay Zipline.
Tagaytay Zipline is available everyday. One-way trip across Tagaytay Zipline costs 200 pesos during weekdays and 300 pesos during weekends and holidays. Two way trip costs 300 pesos during weekdays and 400 pesos during weekend and holidays.

If you don't have the guts to try the Tagaytay Zipline like the person on the above photo, then you can still try Tagaytay Zipline by riding the cable car, which looks like a big bird cage. One-way trip along Tagaytay Zipline costs 200 pesos during weekdays and 300 pesos during weekends and holidays. Two-way trip along Tagaytay Zipine costs 300 pesos during weekdays and 400 pesos during weekends and holidays.

Expect long lines to Tagaytay Zipline during holidays and weekends because too many visitors want to try Tagaytay Zipline.

Tagaytay Zipline in Picnic Grove is one of the best ways to cool yourself down this summer.

Majayjay Falls

Summer is here again and because of this, many people are looking for good places to cool down. To give you some idea to what place to visit so that you can cool down and relax this Summer, I will give you a series of blog posts that are about good places that will guarantee that you will cool down this Summer. First in this series is Majayjay Falls.

I got a chance to visit Majayjay Falls after the Pahiyas Festival in 2010.

Majayjay Falls is located at foot of the mystical Banahaw Mountain and it is not easy to go reach it. The reason for this is that there is no regular jeepney that travel from Lucban to Majayjay Falls. The jeepney driver only agree to bring passengers to Majayjay Falls if majority of passengers are going to Majayjay Falls. Usually, visitors to Majayjay Falls had to disembark at this place:
.

If you are coming from Lucban, then you must ride the jeepney at Lucban Market. Just ask the terminal barker on what route you should ride to reach Majayjay Falls. Ride a tricycle to Majayjay Falls once you reach the place shown on the above photo. Never attempt to walk to Majayjay Falls because it is very far and the trek is uphill.

There is an entrance fee for Majayjay Falls but the fee will not exceed 100 hundred pesos per person. Last May 2010, the entrance fee is 20 pesos per person and 35 pesos per person who will do an overnight camping inside the Majayjay Park.

After the long trek and the trail, you will reach this:

Majayjay Falls

The water at Majayjay Falls is so cold that people place their beverages and softdrinks in its water to cool them down. I assure you that you will shiver once you dip in the cold water of Majayjay.

Majayjay Falls is crowded during weekends and holidays so be prepared for the crowd. It is recommended that you dip or swim at near Majayjay Falls because the water is relatively cleaner there than downstream.

For more information, read my previous article about Majayjay Falls.
