Previously, I posted how to make an appointment for Philippine passport application. DFA’s online application system is good because you do not have to waste your time in long lines. DFA will give a schedule where you can go to the Consular Affairs Office of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA). The schedule that you will is just yours and no other passport applicant will share that schedule. Thus, there will be no long lines when you go to the DFA office.
The DFA is strict when it comes to Philippine passport appointment. Passport applicant should be 30 minutes before the scheduled time. Late comers may not be entertained by the DFA. Those who didn’t come to their appointed time will have problems with the DFA in the future.
So, it is very important that you cancel your passport application if you will not be able to come to your appointed time. DFA says that cancelation must be made 5 working days before your passport application schedule.

Here is the procedure that you should follow to cancel your Philippine passport appointment:
Step 1: Go to the “cancel appointment” page of the DFA.

Step 2: Type in the two words shown in the reCaptcha form and then click the “Click here to proceed to the next step button”.
Step 3: Type in your reference number and your personal details in the page that will appear (see the image below).
The reference number can be found from the email that you received from DFA when you set your passport application appointment. You should also select the reason why you are cancelling your appointment. Here are the options that you can select: incomplete requirements, no budget, emergency cases, n/a (not available) during appointment date, with scheduled flight (renewal), typographical error or wrong spelling, need to change info in application, double application, work conflict and reschedule.
Click the “Cancel Appointment” button once you filled out the form and double checked the information.
Step 4: A pop-up window will appear asking you if you’re sure in submitting the information. Click “OK” if you are sure.
That’s it. Your appointment is now cancelled. However, there will be a problem if you cancelled within 5 working days before your appointment. This warning will appear:
“There was a problem processing your request. Please try again after a few minutes. Cannot cancel within 5 working days. Appointment is on [your scheduled] already.”
This means that if you really want to cancel your Philippine passport application then you must cancel it 5 days before your appointment or you might experience problems with the DFA in the future.

hi, just wanna share this info, i also had problems in cancelling my appointment, like u guys, it showed cant cancel within 5 working days. Emy's right, i tried to set another appointment, and my previous appointment was automatically cancelled. much better to set a new appointment to automatically cancel the previous one rather than not showing on your appointment coz it can cause a trouble with the DFA on your future application/s.

Hi, I just want to ask what will be the repercussion, if you didn't come to the appointment date. I tried to set an appointment with DFA I think twice already, but when the time comes the day before the appointment, some emergency case happened. So I wasn't able to go on my appointment date. When I read on this blog, it stated there will be problem in future application. I'm planning to set an appointment again. But I'm afraid I might need to submit a clearance or something. What should be the best thing that I need to do. Thank you!

ReplyDeleteIt is possible that you typed in the wrong reference number or detail. Another possibility is that the detail that you typed in your passport application is wrong that's why it don't match with the correct info that you are typing now.
Another possibility is that the problem is with DFA.

ReplyDeleteDFA didn't state the repecussion. It is possible that the DFA is just scaring people and prevent them from not showing up on their appointment.
I suggest that you try applying for passport again.

I don't think that that's true. You can still obtain a passport even if you missed your schedule and you didn't cancel the appointment.

Hi! July 23 ang appointment namin at nagplace ako ng panibagong appointment today (July 22) para macancel yung July 23. Nareceive ko yung email na tinapalan nga nung new appointment yung old. Kaso, sinubukan kong icancel yung unang reference number ko out of curiosity. At ito ang lumabas "Cannot cancel appointment. It is on 2015-07-23 already.".

Your uncle don't need to cancel his appointment at DFA-Alabang because he already got his passport. This means that the DFA already canceled his prior appointment.

May natanggap ka bang email mula sa DFA pero wala yung reference number? Or wala kang natanggap na email from DFA?
Try mo yung Spam Folder at baka duon napunta yung email ng DFA.

Proceed ka na lang sa appointment mo sa DFA. Dun mo na lang sa DFA ipabago yung maling info. Ang mahalaga ay meron ka nang reference number.

ReplyDeleteHello! same problem..I want to cancel my appoinment kc no confirmation received, hindi ko rin macancel sa sarili ko naghahanap ng appointment code, wala naman akong natatanggap na confirmation,nagcol na rin ako sa mga DFA hotlines but at the end no result walang naka approve sa request kong cancellation, advice nila col ka sa number na to, col ako uli,sasabihin sa akin col ka sa number na to..paulit ulit nobody entertain my request.. kapag magreport ka sa DFA na site mo para iconfirm ang problem na ganito, hindi ka papasukin ng mga guard dahil wala kang dala na confirmation. paano ako magkakaroon ng confirmation wala naman akong confirmation na natanggap sa email add ko, so stress! urgent need pa naman ung passport naming mag asawa what to do? pls. help?

Did you use Gmail when you scheduled your passport? DFA website said that only Yahoo and Gmail are the valid emails when scheduling a passport application.
Was supposed to be scheduled yesterday for passport renewal. Unfortunately, di ko na mahanap sa email ko yung confirmation email to print the form. I was calling dfa hotline for two days pati na yung branch pero no one was answering. Been waiting on the line for hours. Also sent an email to passportconcerns@dfa.gov.ph pero delayed/undeliverable daw. I was inquiring if it was possible to show up even if I do not have the printouts on the confirmed appointment sana.
